What is Kitsune in Blox Fruits?
Kitsune is a Mythical Beast-type fruit that lets you throw blue fire and eventually transform into a fox spirit from Japanese myth. Build up a tail meter by landing hits and waiting, and once it hits 3 tails you can press V to become a full Kitsune with faster speed, extra damage and the ability to run on water.
Its moves are close and mid-range: quick M1 slashes, a grab-based X, a chargeable beam-style Z and a big C explosion. Almost nothing else in the game moves as fast once transformed, and the fourth M1 plus F both work as grabs that keep a combo going.
It has its own Mythical mutation,
Empyrean, released in December 2025. After the August 2026 balance patch, tap Z no longer breaks Instinct and X now locks you into its animation on hit, so it lost some PvP pressure, but guides still rank it S tier for how mobile and versatile it is.

- Cannot use swords, guns or fighting styles while transformed.
- Struggles against runners and sky campers since only C has enough range.
How to use Kitsune well
- 01
Don't rely on tap Z to break Instinct anymore, that changed in August 2026.
PvP - 02
Open with C; the explosion and flames make it easy to chain into other moves.
Combo - 03
Grab with F right before the last M1 hit to keep the target locked in.
Combo - 04
Caught in a combo? Tap V. The transform animation ignores basic damage for about a second.
Defense - 05
Get to 3 tails before you commit to a fight; 2 tails gives speed, 3 tails adds burn to your M1s and F.
PvP - 06
Transformed Kitsune's speed and water running make it one of the fastest fruits for traveling between islands.
