Key takeaways
- Progress comes from one loop: steal eggs, hatch pets for cash, spend the cash on Speed, reach the next biome.
- Claim the free 10,000 Speed first (like, favourite and join the group). It takes you straight to the Desert.
- Buy treadmills and trails in turn: the trail multiplies whatever your treadmill gives, so upgrade whichever is cheaper right now.
- Aim a bit above each biome's Speed number. Heavy eggs slow you down on the way home.
- Complete each biome's Index on the way: it pays Speed and cash, and unlocks a stronger bat.
How progression works
Steal An Egg has one loop, and everything in the game feeds it. You run out to a biome, grab an egg from a nest (or from another player’s base), carry it home and hatch it. The pet earns money every second. The money buys better treadmills and trails, which give you more Speed. More Speed opens the next biome, where the eggs hold better pets.
Three things decide how fast you move through the game:
- Speed, which unlocks biomes and gets you home before the guardian catches you.
- Income per second, which pays for the next treadmill and trail.
- The size and colour of your pets. Two pets of the same kind can earn very different amounts because weight and colour multiply income.
Nests refill every 5 minutes. At the end of each cycle there is a 10-second night where every egg grows 30 times faster, so time your runs around it.
Every biome in order
There are 12 biomes. Each one is further from your base than the last and needs more Speed. The table below updates from our data, including the best pet in each biome and what it earns right now.

Where your Speed comes from
Speed comes from two things that multiply each other. The treadmill sets how much Speed each step gives, from +2 per step on the free treadmill to +3,000 on the Astral Treadmill. The trail multiplies that, from 1.5x on the Grey Trail to 20x on the Moonbloom Trail. A trail does nothing while you are off the treadmill, and only one trail works at a time.
Because they multiply, the smart buy is whichever upgrade is cheaper at that moment. A 2x trail doubles every treadmill you will ever own, so early trails are some of the best money you can spend.
Stage 1: Forest to Desert (0 to 10K Speed)
You start in the Forest with nothing. Before anything else, like the game, favourite it and join the community group. The reward is 10,000 Speed, which is enough to reach the Desert straight away and skip most of the slow start.
- Buy the Green Trail (2x, $5K) and the Sci-Fi Treadmill (+5 per step, $15K) as soon as you can.
- Steal every egg you can carry. Early pets earn little on their own, but the Index rewards for each new pet add up.
- Place your pets and keep the pen full. An empty slot is lost income.
Stage 2: Jungle to Volcano (40K to 700K Speed)
Now pets start to matter. The Jungle’s Secret egg holds the King Snake, which earns 3.5M/s before size and colour, and Snow and Volcano bring the first Eternal dragons.
- Upgrade to the Flame Treadmill (+12 per step, $250K) and the Blue (2.5x, $75K) then Purple Trail (3x, $1.5M).
- Finish the Forest, Lake and Desert Indexes if you have not yet. Each completed Index unlocks a stronger bat, which knocks thieves further from your base.

Stage 3: Abyss Ocean to Cosmic (2.5M to 700M Speed)
This is the longest stretch: the jump from Prehistoric (18M) to Cosmic (700M) is the biggest in the game. Buy the Celebrity (+30, $5M) and Golden Treadmill (+80, $120M), then the Golden (3.5x, $30M) and Red Trail (4x, $750M).
Abyss Ocean also hides Dr. Scramble’s cave on its left wall, where the quest for the limited Scrambler bat starts. Cosmic is where the first Divine pet lives: the Unicorn, at 1B/s.
Stage 4: Cherry Blossom to Angels & Demons (2.5B to 20B Speed)
The last three biomes need billions of Speed. The Freeze Treadmill ($3B) and Lucky Block Treadmill ($75B) with the Galaxy Trail (5x, $20B) carry you through. Cherry Blossom has the Kitsune (1.8B/s), Titan Temple the Nightflame, and Angels & Demons changes every night between an Angels form, a Demons form and a rare Merged form with both.

What to do at the end
Reaching Angels & Demons is not the end. The best players spend their time on:
- Heavier eggs and rare colours. Rainbow (x3.5) on a heavy pet is where the biggest incomes come from.
- The 30-minute bosses. Dr. Scramble’s Mecha and the Rift Overlord pay currency for boosts and mutation items, and 100 wins unlocks an Eternal pet.
- The Laboratory. Hand in eggs for pulls on exclusive pets, with a guaranteed top pet at 100 pity.
- The Fusion Shrine, hidden behind the waterfall in Angels & Demons, which merges two of its top pets into one.
Common mistakes
- Going to a new biome with just enough Speed. You get in, grab a heavy egg and get caught on the way home.
- Ignoring trails. A trail multiplies every step, so skipping one costs more than it seems.
- Keeping light pets over heavy ones. Check the kg; a heavy pet of a lower rarity can beat a light one of a higher rarity.
- Leaving your base open. Other players steal too. Stay close when you have rare eggs growing.
Conclusion
Get the free Speed, then keep the loop going: better eggs, more cash, more Speed. Upgrade the treadmill and the trail in turn, go a little above each biome’s Speed, and finish each Index as you pass it for the bats. Once you reach the end, bosses, the Laboratory and fusion keep you growing.
Questions
How much Speed do you need for Angels & Demons?
About 20 billion. It is the last and furthest biome, after Titan Temple (7 billion).
What is the fastest way to get Speed in Steal An Egg?
Run on the best treadmill you can afford with the best trail you can afford, and claim the free 10,000 Speed from liking, favouriting and joining the group. Treadmill Speed per step times the trail multiplier is your gain, so improve whichever part is cheaper.
Do trails give Speed when you are not on a treadmill?
No. Trails only multiply the Speed you gain while running on a treadmill.
What should I do after reaching the last biome?
Finish the Indexes for the bats, fight the 30-minute bosses for the Boss Mastery pets, use the Laboratory and the Fusion Shrine, and chase heavier eggs and rare colours.
