Equinox is a fused pet made at the Secret Fusion Shrine, a hidden spot inside the Angels & Demons biome behind a waterfall that looks blue on the Light side and turns to lava on the Dark side.
To make one, two players bring an eligible Light and Dark Eternal pet to the shrine's two altars at the same time. 
Pegasus, the Light Eternal, fuses with 
Skeleton Horse, the Dark Eternal, to produce Equinox.
Because it needs two players each holding the right pet, and both pets only drop from the newer Angels & Demons biome, Equinox is more of a coordination puzzle than a simple grind.
Find the shrine behind a waterfall in the Angels & Demons biome. One player holds Pegasus on the Light altar, another holds Skeleton Horse on the Dark altar, and both wait for the fusion cutscene.
Pegasus and Skeleton Horse, only come from the newer Angels & Demons biome.Line up a friend with a Skeleton Horse before you go looking for the shrine, so you are not waiting around once you find it.
The shrine's waterfall looks blue on the Angels side and turns to lava on the Demons side, but it sits in the same spot either way.
Only Eternal or Divine pets from Angels & Demons work on the altars, older biome pets will not trigger the fusion.
The Secret Fusion Shrine sits opposite the area where the biome's bosses guard their eggs.
Equinox is named for the balance between its Light and Dark parent pets.

Strengths: Strong Eternal income for a pet you can craft on purpose instead of hatching blindly. The Secret Fusion Shrine is a fun, hidden mechanic worth discovering on its own. Doing it with a friend makes the pull a shared moment rather than solo luck. Weaknesses: You need a second player online with the matching pet at the same time. Both ingredient pets, Pegasus and Skeleton Horse, only come from the newer Angels & Demons biome.
