Every Steal An Egg bat, the best bat, and how to upgrade your bat.

Your bat is how you knock thieves away from your base and how you fight bosses. Every player starts with the same Bat. Better bats are not bought: each one unlocks when you complete a biome Index, which means hatching every pet from that biome at least once.

How to upgrade your bat

  1. Pick the next biome in the list below and open its Index to see which pets you are still missing.
  2. Steal and hatch the missing pets. Any size and any colour counts.
  3. When the Index is complete, the biome's bat unlocks and replaces the old one. Each step up hits 10% harder, ragdolls for 10% longer and reaches further.

Every bat, weakest to best

Force is how hard it knocks a player back, Duration is how many seconds they stay ragdolled, and Range bonus is extra reach in studs. The bat pictures are our own drawings in each biome's colours; the game does not publish its bat models.

Flyswatter

A slap weapon from the Monster Chest (feed 5 parasites to the Hungry Frog). It ragdolls for about 1 second, close to a Cosmic Bat.

Early versions of the game sold slaps for cash (Slap, Dirt, Golden, Diamond, Emerald and Demon Slap, from $500 to $4.4M). They are no longer in the game, so ignore any guide that tells you to buy one.

The Titan Axe, from completing the Titan Temple Index. It knocks players back with 90.78 force and ragdolls them for about 1.3 seconds, 159% harder than the starting Bat.

How do you upgrade your bat in Steal An Egg?
You cannot buy bat upgrades. Complete a biome Index (hatch every pet from that biome once) and that biome's bat unlocks. Each one is about 10% stronger than the last.
