The short answer
Trading in Murder Mystery 2 unlocks at level 10. Open the player list, click a player and choose Trade. Both of you add items, a short timer runs each time something is added, and the trade goes through when you both accept. There are no official trading servers: any server’s lobby works.
How to trade in MM2, step by step
- Reach level 10. MM2 added this rule on December 28, 2021 to stop duped items spreading.
- In the lobby, open the player list and click the player you want to trade with.
- Choose Trade. They can accept or decline the request.
- Both sides add items. Each time an item is added there is a short wait before anyone can accept, so nobody can swap an item at the last second.
- Check the final window carefully, then accept.
You can switch off trade requests with a button in the game if people keep spamming you (not on phones).
Are there MM2 trading servers?
There is no official trading server or trading lobby in MM2. Trades happen in the lobby between rounds in any normal server. Busy servers mean more players to trade with, which is why players talk about “trading servers”: they simply join full servers and ask around.
What you cannot trade
- Effects, emotes and radios.
- Almost every Unique. Uniques were mostly leaderboard prizes and stay on the account that won them. Corrupt is the only Unique you can trade.
- Evolving game pass ancients: Reaver, Icecrusher, Gingerscythe and Synthwave cannot be traded once bought.
Items that cannot be traded show Not tradable on our MM2 value list.
