Next MM2 Update (2026): Halloween Event, Season 2 and the Summer Update

The short answer

As of October 7, 2026, the next Murder Mystery 2 update has no official date. The next big one is likely the Halloween event, and Nikilis has hinted that a larger update, possibly Season 2, is coming after the summer. We update this page when anything is announced.

MM2 Halloween 2026

Nothing is official yet. Here is what last year’s event looked like, which is the best guide to what is coming:

• Dates: October 18 to November 21, 2025.
• Currency: Candies, collected in rounds.
• Event pass: 25 tiers at 800 candies each (the first one free), ending with the Raygun godly for 90,000 candies, which could also come as a chroma.
• Halloween Box: 800 candies or one Alien Key, with Alienbeam and Chroma Alienbeam.
• New godlies: four.

MM2 Season 2

Season 1 came out on May 25, 2019 and changed most of the game: a new UI, maps and pets, 1,000-coin boxes, chromas in every box and cross-platform trading. Season 2 has not been announced. What we know:

• In the 2025 Christmas event, the first letters of the hidden items on Santa’s List spelled “Season 2”.
• A fan account reported in July 2026 that Nikilis confirmed a “monumental update” after the summer event.
• No date, trailer or patch notes have been published.

What the Summer 2026 update added

The Summer Event 2026 ran from July 23 to August 23, 2026:

• A summer lobby and the new Pier map.
• Daily and weekly quests that paid Shells.
• The Summer Box ’26: 120 Shells or 60 diamonds.
• The Beach Bundle: Beachy, Sands and the Ocean effect for 3,399 Robux, or 1,699 Robux each, with a chance of a chroma.

The latest MM2 event

The Hunt: Roblox 20 ran from September 17 to 28, 2026, for Roblox’s 20th anniversary. It brought back the original 2014 Murder Mystery 1 maps and added a Retro Bundle for 799 Robux. Shortly before it, a smaller update made every box show the drop chance of each item.

Event items turn trade only when an event ends, and that is usually when their value starts to climb. Check them on the MM2 value list.
