Four kids are missing in 99 Nights in the Forest. Each one appears on the map as your campfire levels up, guarded by animals, and three of them need a key:

How to rescue them
- Level up the campfire. Keep feeding it. Each new level reveals the next kid on your map.
- Clear the guards. Wolves, Alpha Wolves and bears guard every kid. Go as a group, or bring a combat class (see the class tier list).
- Get the key. The Kraken, Squid and Koala Kids are locked up. Alpha Wolves near the Kraken Kid can drop the blue key.
- Bring them back to camp.
Why the kids matter
- Faster days. Every kid you rescue adds +1 to the day multiplier, up to 9x together with the best beds. A run to Day 99 takes about seven and a half hours at normal speed, and under an hour at 9x.
- Diamonds. Rescuing all four earns the Orienteering badge, worth 4 Diamonds once. There are more kid badges too.
- Kid jobs. Since the July 11 and August 8, 2026 updates you can befriend rescued kids with their trinkets: the Dino Kid works, the Kraken Kid fishes, the Squid Kid cooks and the Koala Kid digs up scrap.

Where is the Koala Kid in 99 Nights in the Forest?
The Koala Kid shows up once your campfire reaches level 6. Six bears guard it, and you need the grey key.
