About the Starfish
You can hatch it today from the Basic Egg, Crystal Egg, Admin Abuse Egg, Gemstone Egg; the Gemstone Egg gives it about a 18% chance per hatch.
Like every pet it comes in 12 forms: normal, Neon and Mega Neon, each on its own, Ride, Fly or Fly Ride. A Mega Neon Fly Ride Starfish takes 16 full grown Starfishs plus a Fly-A-Pet Potion (255 Robux) and a Ride-A-Pet Potion (130 Robux).
It learns 4 tricks as it grows, from Sit as a Newborn to Jump at Teen.

Where to get the Starfish
Per-hatch chance = the egg's odds for this rarity, shared evenly by that rarity's pets.
Neon and Mega Neon planner
4 full grown make 1 Neon; 4 Luminous Neons make 1 Mega Neon (16 pets in all).

What it costs to hatch a Starfish
| Egg | Chance per hatch | Eggs on average | For one Starfish | For a Mega Neon (16) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 18.0% | 6 | - | - | |
| 2.8% | 36 | - | - | |
| 1.3% | 75 | - | - | |
| 0.06% | 1,616 | - | - |
Averages: luck varies a lot, and you could hatch it on the first try or much later. Free eggs from the Task Board and age-ups lower the real cost.
Tips for the Starfish
- Hatch the Gemstone Egg: it gives the Starfish the best odds (about 18.0% per hatch). Each one takes 5 tasks to hatch.
- You need 4 full grown Starfishs for one Neon, so keep aging the copies you get instead of trading them away early.
- Only one of the four pets you fuse needs Fly or Ride: the Neon (and later the Mega Neon) keeps it. That saves buying a potion for every copy.
- Fuse them in the Neon Cave, then raise four Luminous Neons for a Mega Neon: Starfish x16 in total.
